Enriched air (also known as nitrox) is a form of breathing gas with a higher proportion of oxygen and a lower proportion of nitrogen compared with regular air. This higher oxygen concentration reduces body nitrogen absorption underwater, enabling longer dives, more dives and shorter surface intervals.
How it works
Students complete PADI® eLearning and hands-on learning at our Dive Centre.
This is a dry course. That means students do not dive to earn this certification.
What you'll learn
How to obtain and use enriched air.
Managing oxygen exposure and how to determine the optimal depth range.
The maximum safe depths for diving with enriched air.
Gas analysis.
Setting dive computers for diving with enriched air.
The differences between diving with air and enriched air.
Pre-requisites
Participants must be aged ≥ 12 years.
Participants must have a PADI® Open Water or another qualifying certification.
