This course aims to build your confidence in your skills and to develop your ability to recognise — and help — a diver requiring assistance.

How it works
Theory
Students complete the provided independent eLearning before the practical phase of the course. This study will be reviewed by the student's instructor and students will be invited to engage with their class and seek clarification on any unclear topics. Students will then complete a written assessment.
Practical
After completing their written assessment, students arrive at the pool and learn the skills they need to recognise, prevent and respond to various scenarios.
Finally, students practice their skills in an open water environment. Their ability will be assessed in various instructor-staged scenarios.
Time commitment
This course can be completed over 2 days, plus some additional time for independent study.
Example: a student completes their independent study before the practical phase of the course. The student then completes their written assessment and pool session on the 1st day of the practical phase, then they demonstrate their skills in an open water environment on the 2nd.
Pre-requisites
Participants must be aged ≥ 12 years.
Participants must have a PADI® Advanced Open Water certification, a PADI® Advanced Junior Open Water certification or an equivalent certification from another training organisation.
Participants must acquire the PADI® Emergency First Responder® certification, or an equivalent certification from another training organisation, before completing this course.
Participants must be medically fit to dive. A completed PADI Medical Questionnaire, signed by a G.P. as appropriate, is required.
Participants will be required to complete the provided independent study.
Participants must bring swimming gear and use their own mask & snorkel.
Participants must bring a pocket mask. These are available from our store.
